Steve & Amanda

We wanted to introduce you to a new addition to Northernlight Filmworks. Steve & Amanda Moon. Steve is my brother and is a great photographer / videographer. Steve has helped with several video projects in the past and has a great eye for capturing the right moment. Amanda, my sister-in-law, is also very creative and detail oriented. She keeps Steve in check :) Steve & Amanda are committed to following the flow of your wedding day as candidly as possible and to refine the footage into your wedding story.

I played with my new toy (Nikon) on Thanksgiving Day to take some pictures of Steve & Amanda for their Christmas card. They have a little girl named Emma who is 2 years old and an 8 month old named Jack (after our Dad).

Wedding at the Brickyard - Deanna & Anthony

This was a wedding we filmed at the Brickyard Crossing. Deanna and Anthony have a racing background ( see the previous post ) and they really enjoyed themselves that day and so did we as we were granted access to the track! The thing I remember most about this wedding is how much in love the two of them are, the track and how the guests really liked to dance!

Thank you Deanna and Anthony for selecting us to film your wedding.

Wedding - Simmons Winery - Heidi & Anthony

NOTE: Video quality reduced by Blogger

This was a wedding we filmed at Simmons Winery. It got a little warm that day but the lighting was great to work with. We enjoyed getting to know Heidi and Anthony. You know, when we finish the edit on weddings, it seems like the music score always seems to fit the couple and this highlight is no different. We enjoyed working with a very talented photographer Anne Ruthmann of Anne Ruthmann Photography. You have to check out her blog...it's one of the best.

Ingrid & Chris - "Save the Date"

NOTE: Video Quality reduced by Blogger

Ingrid and Chris were fun to work with during their engagement shoot. Erin Hession of Erin Hession Photography got Ingrid and Chris to warm up to all of us. The "Save the Date" video has been really popular this year. It's a unique way of announcing your engagement or as a reminder of the wedding to family and friends. As the wedding day approaches I think one of the top complaints we hear is that you get all of the RSVP's too close to the wedding day and many times in large numbers all at once. The "Save the Date" video can be used to remind people to RSVP. When they get the video via e-mail a light goes off..."oh yeah we need to RSVP".

Ingrid and Chris are taking dance lessons in preparation for their first dance. We are going to film some of their practice session to add to their video. We love it when couples have a plan for their first dance...it makes for better video and the guests love it too. If you watch the video we did in Colorado (Andrew and Brittany) we incorporated the practice session in with the actual 'First Dance'.

Save The Date Video

NOTE: Quality reduced by Blogger

This is the engagement shoot of Carita and Nate. They are a very fun couple. Carita was really fun to work with as she pulled Nate into poses that made the shoot work. We are filming Carita and Nates wedding next year. Thanks to Stefanie and Brock with SB Childs Photography for letting us tag along. Stefanie and Brock have alot of energy during their sessions, which really helps tap into the personalities of the client.

Our Family Photos-Fun!

We had our family photos taken by Amanda and Nate Reynolds with Turtlepond Photography

All of our favorite photographers seem to have this inherent gift of being able to catch the moment to tell the story. Amanda and Nate are one of the very best.

When I look at these photos I see talent but I also see our children who seem to grow up too fast. I always heard my Mom and Dad say this and you know what...it is so true. Kids, we love you all!

I love the photo of me giving Jennifer a kiss. I was being overly dramatic with it and of course the kids were like "Oh gross". Shaylee in the background has that 'see no evil' look.

Well it's official....we finished second place in the Channel 6 A-List competition! The best thing about all of this is just being nominated. Whether we finished first, last or somewhere in between was fine with us. What we really appreciate are the comments we received from our former clients. This has been an incredible year and we are looking forward to 2008 and already have some really cool places to shoot. Thanks to all.

Here are some of the comments we received from the competition:

Brittany Ramsey

"The highlight video that Northernlight Filmworks created is by far the best momento of our wedding that we have. I have gotten so many compliments on it and most of my friends say they cry every time they watch it. We could never thank John and Jennifer enough! They are amazing and definitely the best!"

Andrew Ramsey

"Northernlight did our wedding and the final production was absolutely stunning! They are tremendous to work with. Their creative vision and desire to capture all aspects of the event is unmatched. We are truly lucky to have such a great memory to share and remember our wedding! Thank you so much!"

Deanna & Anthony

"John and Jennifer, at Northernlight Filmworks are an incredible, professional team to work with. They are extremely talented and ultimately capture the emotion of the couple and the day. When we were choosing our videographer for our wedding, it was imperative for us to find an individual or team, that was almost transparent to the day.... and they were! So organized, timely and above all else - you can see how much they ENJOY what they do! When it comes to the most important day of your life, you better find someone who is passionate in what they do - and I assure you, you will find that in John and Jennifer. Thanks Guys! You're the Best!"

Carol Renz

"I sometimes worked with my dad who was an incredible and talented videographer years ago in Indy so I am familiar with what it takes to be that good. Although you can teach a person how to video events you truly must have the desire, talent & gift to produce the work Northernlight Filmworks produces - unbelievable!"

Leslie Frazer

"Northernlight Filmworks was amazing to work with on every level!!! Their professionalism and ability to accomodate us in every way made the whole experience that much more memorable. They captured so much more than we could even imagine. In the process of planning and making a wedding happen you can sometimes forget or leave out pieces that Northernlight Filmworks as our videographers had the ability to capture that we might have otherwise never had the memory of. Our son's wedding video is amazing and will be viewed over and over for a long long time!!!! Thanks Northernlight Filmworks!!! Outstanding job!"

Tena Frazer

"They clearly are the 'best,' for a number of reasons: They 'listen' to the customer, are professional and extremely creative. It's a joy to work with such great people who produce outstanding work!"

Josh

"They're fantastic to work with! They filmed our love story and are about to film our wedding. They're fun, professional and extremely creative. They get to know us and what we like and are like, then they edit from there. Amazing products!"
